This past weekend my family and I went over to Montana to visit some of our dear friends, the Browns. We've known the Browns for ten years, meeting at Washington Family Camp Meeting when we were all much younger. Over the years we've gotten to know Emily and Ashley as close friends. What I love about these girls is that we can relate. We've had similar upbringings, made some of the same mistakes, done many of the same things, and have the same goals in mind for our futures. We can encourage one another and be happy being ourselves, not putting on a facade that we have to be more conservative all the time. Sometimes it's fun to just run around being ones own self, and not worry what others will think or say, though of course I respect these people and their beliefs. I just love the freedom to know that these friends won't think ill of me because I don't wear a skirt all the time or that I go to a public school.
Friends like Em and Ash are far and few, making them all the more precious when we can spend time together. Our trip over, right before college started again, was the catylst we needed to get our families together more often. I am thankful that we don't live too far apart, so we will see one another more often then we used too!
Praise God for good friends!
Friends like that are treasures! And I'm glad I've got one like that in you. ;-)
